Types of Available Testosterone Powder
There are some common types of testosterone powder available, which are generally administered through injections. They are discussed as below:
- Testosterone Enanthate: This is the most popularly used testosterone ester. It generally comes as a solution in sesame oil, and has a life of 8 to 10 days in the human body. For this reason, it does not require to be administered more than once in a week. It can also be administered as infrequently as once in 3 weeks. The most popular brand of testosterone enanthate that is available in the US is Delatestryl, which is a sesame oil solution of the ester. It is not only good for performance enhancement, but also for medical purposes.
- Testosterone Cypionate: This is the second most common form of testosterone ester available. Though it is chemically different, it is considered an equivalent of testosterone enanthate. It has 8 to 12 days of life and can be injected once a week. It comes as a cottonseed oil solution, under the brand name of Depo-Testosterone. it can also be interchangeably used with the enanthate within a steroid cycle.
- Sustanon: This form of testosterone comes in 2 variations – Sustanon 100 (containing 3 esters) and Sustanon 250 (containing 4 esters). This is available in both slow-acting and fast-acting forms, and may be administered from once a week to once in 4 weeks. However, this drug is not prescribed in the US.
- Testosterone Propionate: This was one of the first forms of testosterone esters to be created. However, it is not very popular, maybe because it is a fast acting ester. It can only stay in the body for 3 to 4 days before being completely used up. This increases the requirement of injecting the athlete at least twice a week. This also results in the disruption of constant testosterone levels in the blood. Testosterone propionate injections can also cause pain and swelling around the injection spot. It is available under the brand names of Virormone and Testovis.
